Jet-Part 2

Dreamsea opened her eyes to be met by battle. She instinctively leapt onto a black tom, and tore into him, making him run away. She smiled to herself, but as she looked around, a shadow was thrown across her. She looked up to see a black tom, with fiery red eyes, rising over her. She tried to move, but the tom was too quick, and she felt her body throb with pain as she bounced once against the ground. She felt herself give in, though she wanted to fight. Claws flashed, and cats yowled around her. Then, she heard an odd yowl of grief. It was terrible to listen too. She heard a soft murmuring, and she found herself speaking, though she didn't know what she was saying. But the tom seemed to understand. She couldn't make out anything. Not a single word. Then, a shining light was coming towards her, she squinted her eyes and looked away. When she looked back at the light, a cat was standing before her, but this cat was shrouded in light. She felt her heart fill with... love...? He whispered to her.

"Come.... It is time..."

She did not hear the names spoken, but she willingly followed this unknown cat into a shining dew filled forest. She gasped. This forest must be StarClan! Am I dead!? She still followed the shining cat, until she came to a large cavern.

Time seemed to skip forward. She was standing in front of a white cat with amber eyes. She only heard a bit of what he was saying.

"... Breakaway...."

Dreamsea's eyes then flew open, and found herself staring into Jetblaze's face. She yowled in shock, and stumbled backwards, tripping over her own feet, and landing on her back. Her eyes were wide with shock, and she stared at Jetblaze's face. His eyes showed that he was amused, and she felt her shock turn to anger. She snapped.

"Why'd you wake me up!"

A slight smile played at Jetblaze's lips.

"It's almost Sun-High. I was told to wake you. Bluegaze is leading a hunting patrol with me, Frostysky, Silentecho, Fallenstrike, and Silverlily. He said for you to come too."

Dreamsea growled, and Jetblaze shrugged.

"Just doing what Bluegaze said. What, you don't want to go hunting cause you too afraid I'll catch more prey then you?"

Jetblaze smirked. Dreamsea snarled and leaped up, her fur bristling.

"Ya right! Just leave me alone!"

She stalked out of the Warriors Den, bumping angrily into Jetblaze on her way out, making him stagger slightly. He threw a smile over his shoulder, and followed her out.

::---::

She sniffed the air thoughtfully. Lots of prey was out, getting ready for the colder seasons ahead. She scented a squirrel, and started to stalk it. LakeClan didn't catch many squirrels, because LakeClan cats didn't climb trees. She saw the squirrel chewing on an acorn, and tried to get as close as she could. She saw it stiffen, and that's when she leaped. Her paws met empty ground, and she growled in fustration. She spun around as she heard a laugh.

"I think you need some squirrel stalking tips. When I lived alone all I did was hunt squirrels. I'm a pro."

She flattened her ears as she looked at the black tom.

"I don't need any help. Especially not from you, Jetblaze!"

Jetblaze rolled his eyes.

"Only trying to help."

Dreamsea shook her head, and took a step forward.

"No, Jetblaze, you are showing off and bragging! Just, leave me alone!"

Dreamsea snarled, then pushed her feet against the ground and ran in the opposite direction of Jetblaze. She then felt her hindquarters dragged down, then the rest of her body. She yowled in alarm, and was spun around. her eyes widened as she looked into the pure black eyes of a fox. She yowled louder, struggling to get free. She dug her back claws into the fox's soft stomach, but the fox didn't let go. It lunged at her neck, it's teeth meeting her soft neck. She tried to lunge her head away, but to no use. She felt the fox's thorn sharp teeth dig deeper into her neck. Her world started to blur around her, and let at one last yowl. She saw two shapes hurtle out of the bushes. A white and a black one. Two. She felt her body start to get numb, and she stopped her weak struggling. A command was yowled through the air, and she felt the foxes weight lifted off of her. Darkness started to seep over Dreamsea's vision, and she saw a black shape race over to her while the white one fought of the fox. The black shape yowled, but she only heard it faintly.

"Bluegaze! We'relosingher!"

Then, all sound and sight faded.

4 Warriors and 2 Apprentices

Silverpaw, Arcingpaw, Daypaw and Shadowedpaw. Please step forward.

*Markstar smiled down at his apprentice. Bluegaze had also helped with training Shadowedpaw, because Bluegaze was blind. Shadowedpaw could only see shadows, so it was difficult for Markstar to train him.

Hazelcloud, Foxwing and Icewing are you satisfied that your apprentice is ready to become a warrior?

*The mentors all nod and respond.*

Yes, they are ready.

*Markstar nodded.*

I, Markstar, leader of LakeClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I give them to you as warriors in turn.

Silverpaw, Arcingpaw, Daypaw and Shadowedpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend your clan even at the cost of your life?

*They nod nod and say I do.*

*The clan started to cheer for the new warriors.*

Silverlily! Dayriver! Arcingsong! Shadowedgaze!

*Once the cheering died down, Markstar spoke again.*

Now, as tradition. You must sit a silent vigil tonight to reflect on your warrior duties!

*Then, he continued*

By naming apprentices we show that LakeClan will survive and remain strong.

*Markstar looked down, then smiled.

Wakekit and Bladedkit, please step forward.

*His two kits stepped forward. Their fur was neat from an earlier grooming from Grayshadow *

Until you have received you warrior names, you will be known as Wakepaw and Bladedpaw!

Soul and Frostysky, please step forward. Train your apprentices well.

Soul,  you shall mentor Wakepaw.

Jet-Part 1

Dreampaw yawned and stretched. She was sitting in the clearing, waiting to be asked on a patrol. She rarely went, and found it quite boring. Then she saw Rippleblaze pad over to her. She jumped up.

"Are we going to train?"

Rippleblaze nodded, and smiled, his eyes warm.

"Yep. Come on. We'll do some fighting practice."

Dreampaw nodded.

"Okay!"

Rippleblaze flicked his tail, and padded out of the camp. Dreampaw followed after him.

As they were nearing the training hollow, Rippleblaze stiffened.

"Dreampaw, tell me what you smell."

She sniffed the air and bristled.

"Intruder!"

Rippleblaze nodded in approval.

"Come on. Let's go see what, or who, it is."

Dreampaw nodded, and silently crept forward beside Rippleblaze. They heard a cat hissing in frustration, and Rippleblaze leaped out of the undergrowth, ready to attack. Dreampaw followed, snarling, then stopped. She stared at their "intruder" dumbfounded. The intruder was tangled in a bramble bush, and was apparently stuck.

"Umm... Rippleblaze... what do we do?"

She could see that Rippleblaze was holding back a mrrow of laughter. He rolled his eyes, and finally the tom cat noticed them. He stopped struggling, and hissed.

"May I help you?"

Dreampaw narrowed her eyes, and was about to shoot a remark back when Rippleblaze purred.

"I think that question should be directed at you. You're the one caught in a bramble bush, on our territory."

The tom hissed, but didn't respond.

"You need help?"

The tom looked away, and Dreampaw laughed. Rippleblaze smiled, and motioned for Dreampaw to also help. The two clan cats soon had this tom out, when Rippleblaze started questioning.

"Why are you on our territory?"

The tom bared his teeth.

"Roaming, what does it look like?"

Rippleblaze snarled.

"Come on, are you the only one?"

The tom nodded.

"Dreampaw, get on his other side. We're bringing him back to camp. Markstar can handle him."

She padded to the other side of the tom intruder, and looked him over. He seemed to be about her age, but older. He had sleek black fur, with yellow eyes. He was well muscled, and would be a strong opponent in battle. Dreampaw soon saw the camp in front of her, then they were padding in. Dreampaw padded away from Rippleblaze and the tom and went to find Markstar She stopped in the entrance to the Leader's Den. The den felt so... familiar to her, though she had never been it before.

"Markstar? May I come in."

There was a muffled mew, and Dreampaw took that as a yes. She padded in.

"Hello Dreampaw, is there a problem?"

Dreampaw quickly explained what had happened, and followed Markstar as he padded into the clearing. Markstar sat down.

"Who are you?"

The tom rolled his eyes.

"Who does it look like I am? I'm a cat, in your territory, who may wish to join."

Markstar held back a growl.

"What is your name..."

The tom smirked.

"Jet."

Dreampaw looked to the sky as a loud boom of thunder rolled across the sky. Rain had been threatening all day, and it now started to rain lightly. Dreampaw groaned, but Markstar ignored it.

"And you would like to join, Jet?"

Jet nodded. Markstar nodded, and leaped onto the LakeRock. Dreampaw noticed him hesitate before speaking. Would he do a formal ceremony? Dreampaw saw his eyes flicker, and thought. No, he won't. Markstar cleared his throat, and spoke.

"Jet wishes to join LakeClan! Jet, do you wish to receive a clan name, Jetpaw?"

Jet thought for a second, then slowly nodded. Markstar nodded.

"Then from now on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Jetpaw. Strongspirit shall be your mentor."

Markstar nodded, then leaped down, and quickly padded to his den as the rain poured down. Most of the clan did the same, but Sorrelheart and Stormwater organized hunting and border patrols. Dreampaw flattened her ears to her head, and crawled into the Apprentices Den. She let out a hiss a she saw Jetpaw licking himself dry, in her nest! She stalked up to him, her tail lashing.

"What are you doing!?"

Jetpaw looked up.

"Cleaning myself. Is that a problem?"

Dreampaw hissed, and spoke through closed teeth.

"You're sitting in my nest."

Jetpaw looked down.

"It looks like any other nest to me."

Dreampaw growled.

"It's my nest. My scent is on i!"

Jetpaw rolled his eyes.

"Fine, I'll move."

Jetpaw stood up, and moved to another, unoccupied nest not too far away. She stepped onto her nest to find it soaking wet. She hissed in anger.

"Look what you did!"

Jetpaw smirked, but didn't answer. Dreampaw grumbled to herself.

"Maybe if I'm lucky, I can find dry moss still!"

She rolled up her wet moss, and carried it into the clearing, walking along the sides to try to stay dry. The sun was still up, but it would be dark soon. She walked out of the clearing to be stopped by Fallenstrike.

"Where are you going? It's getting dark soon."

Dreampaw put the moss she was holding down, and shook her fur lightly.

"Going to see if I can find any dry moss. Jetpaw... got mine all wet."

Fallenstrike nodded.

"Just don't be long. Also, maybe get some for the elders also. They'd appreciate it."

Dreampaw nodded, hoping she wouldn't be, and picked up the moss again. She grumbled slightly at being given a job. She carried it a little ways from camp, before dropping it, and went in search of some moss. She had needed to get new moss anyways, hers was getting dirty.

She eventually found some moss that was still dry inside a hollow tree. She ripped some off, in clean, smooth cuts. She got as much as she would need for herself. I'll have to get more for the elders.... She then grabbed some more, so she was carrying as much as she could, and padded back to camp, with moss in her mouth and under her chin. She nodded to Fallenstrike, and went to the elders den. They still had enough clean moss, so she only took out the dirty stuff, and threw in the new moss. The elders who were still awake said thanks, and she backed out of the den and brought the dirty moss outside of the camp, before going to get more for herself.

She got her moss, and was soon back into the Apprentices Den. It had been dark for a while now, and she spread out the moss, before moving away from all the dry moss, and drying her fur out. Once she had licked her fur clean, she curled up in her dry nest, and fell asleep.

Vacation

I'm going to be gone from Tuesday to Friday! Talk to you all and add cats Friday/more likely Saturday! I have one post scheduled for tomorrow! Byee

The Coming

*Everlight kneaded the ground, and let her eyes roam around to find Bluegaze. She spotted him speaking with Shadowedpaw about ways on how to find your enemy. She stood up, and padded over to Bluegaze. She hissed.*

Bluegaze, we have to talk.

*He glared at her with his sightless blue eyes. He growled, and told Shadowedpaw he'd be back. he stood up and padded a distance away with Everlight followed.*

What's wrong now?

*Everlight narrowed her eyes.*

It's coming. The destruction is coming.

*Bluegaze's eyes widened.*

No! We can't tell yet! It's not time!

*Everlight shook her head.*

It has come earlier then we have expected. But, we must.

*Bluegaze looked down.*

But what if it makes it worse!

*Everlight snarled.*

It won't Bluegaze!

*Bluegaze took a step towards Everlight.*

The prophecy doesn't say this.

*Everlight snarled.*

Bluegaze. What have you seen!?

*Bluegaze stiffened, and Everlight advanced.*

What have you seen!

*Bluegaze closed his eyes.*

Nothing. The prophecy is advancing, stretching farther then even I can see.

*Everlight's eyes filled with shock. She backed up.*

No.. no... no... Do you know what this means!?

*Bluegaze nodded, and his eyes flew open.*

Your Affinity, it has been shown. The battle shall come due to your faults.

*Bluegaze stood up, and padded away. Leaving Everlight to stand there rigid with shock.*

Break Away

Dreampaw sat up straight in her nest. She breathed heavily, and looked around. She had seen claws flashing, teeth snapping. She had heard sorrowful wailing, and a soothing voice. She could still hear that voice.

...Only few cats can make me this happy. And only you can make me this happy, on my final breaths. Only you... Only you...

She hadn't heard the name of the cat this she-cat was speaking to, but she could tell that this cat was dying. She took in large mouthfuls of air to calm herself. The battle still raged in her head, and she saw a black tom with red eyes numerous times. It seemed like she had recognized him, but couldn't figure it out. Finally, Dreampaw was calmed down, and crept out of the den. She looked around, but it was still dawn. She saw a patrol being assembled, and padded over to it.

"C-can I join this... ummm... Patrol?"

The tortoiseshell she-cat who was assembly the patrol, thought for a moment. Then nodded. Dreampaw tried to remember this cat's name. Sorrelheart. Sorrelheart spoke.

"Sure Dreampaw. Birchstorm, Silentpaw, Wrenpaw, Blossomspirit, Fallenstrike, Driftbreeze, Dimpelt and Coal, go on a hunting patrol. Birchstorm, you can lead."

Birchstorm nodded, and signaled the patrol to follow. Dreampaw waited, and followed at the back.

Dreampaw scented the air, and smelled some mice. She opened her mouth to speak, when Blossomspirit spoke first.

"Over here! I'm going to go catch that mouse."

Dreampaw closed her mouth as Blossomspirit bounded off.

Trying hard to reach out,
But when I'd try to speak out,
Felt like no one could hear me.

She lowered her head, and looked at the ground. The ferns brushed against her legs, and she shook her head. Soon, Blossomspirit came back with two mice in her jaws. Birchstorm smiled at her, and purred.

"Okay. Why don't we try some fishing. Do some fishing and diving training while we're at it."

The group nodded, except for Dreampaw. She stiffened. I don't know if I can fish! She hadn't realized she had stopped, until she saw Wrenpaw turn around and look at her.

"Are you coming Dreampaw?"

She nodded hesitantly, and started to walk again. She looked to the sky in sadness.

Wanted to belong here,
But something felt so wrong here,
So I pray.

When she got to the lake, many cats of the patrol were already in the Lake. She padded up to the large surface of water, and waded in until her paws were covered with water. Her paws tingled, and a shiver went down her spine.

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly,
I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky.

Dreampaw closed her eyes, and leaped into the deeper part of the water. Her eyes flew open as she made impact. Bubbles swirled around her, then they cleared away. She gasped, and swallowed a mouthful of water. She broke to the surface, gasping for air. She had seen everything. Everything underwater. As clear as if she were on land.

And I'll make a wish,
Take a chance,
Make a change.

She dove back under, and spotted a fish. She narrowed her eyes, and propelled after it, all in silence.

And breakaway.

She snapped at the fish, catching it in her jaws. Then, she swam to the surface. Sunlight hit her face in a daze, She blinked several times to adjust to the light.

Out of the darkness,
And into the sun.

She slowly swam back to shore. Some of the cats were looking at her in approval. That was her first time, and she already caught a fish. She smiled shyly as she dropped it, then waded back into the water.

I'll take a risk,
Take a chance,
Make a change.

She smiled, and dove back in.

And breakaway.

Soon, they had caught enough prey, and Dreampaw held two large fish, and one mouse in her jaws as she padded back to camp. She dropped her prey on the fresh kill pile. She looked around before slipping back out of camp. She sniffed the air, and finally found her way to the LakeRocks. She sighed in contentment, and stretched out on one of the rocks, quickly picking up the heat of the rock.

Wanna feel a warm breeze,
Sleep under a palm tree,
Feel the rush of the ocean.

The river calmly ran between the rocks, creating perfect silence.

And breakaway...

Dreampaw sighed, and let her eyes drift close. She purred, and was soon asleep. Her dreams were not happy though. She twisted and turned in her sleep as visions of fierce battle, and sorrow filled her mind...

Coming Back

*Grayshadow paced back and forth, her stomach contracting with spasms. She wanted Adder here so badly, but he had gone, and left her alone. She circled with sorrow, then padded out of the camp into the forest. Couldn't he have waited!? She wailed silently in her mind. Her heart aching for her mate. Maybe... I should have gone with him. What is my destiny StarClan!? She sighed, then let her paws give out underneath her. She slowly drew closer to the forest floor until she lay on her side. her mind ringing with sadness and pain. She squeezed her eyes shut, and remembered the name Adder had told her. Stillkit. (I changed the name from Spark-kit to Stillkit. I also changed it in the post, The Leave.) She purred, but it was cut off by a large amount of pain. She wanted to yowl, but she didn't.

She panted, then another burst of pain came. This time, she couldn't register anything thoughts. Only until after the pain had passed, had she realized she had wailed out. She then felt tears sting her eyes. She dug her claws into the ground, until she felt pain shoot through her claws for digging in so hard. She let her claws relax, and realized they were covered in blood by digging into the Earth. She wailed quietly and pitifully. Then, her vision blurred, and she was submerged into blackness.

Grayshadow soon woke to a sharp pain. Her eyes widened, and she looked over herself. One of the first kits was... stuck. She wailed in pain as a spasm went through her. She didn't know what to do. She had never seen a kit get stuck before. Then, she felt a tail touch her shoulder. She flinched slightly, and looked over her shoulder to see a large black and white cat, with searing amber eyes. Her eyes widened in shock, then soon subsided to pain as another spasm ripped through her. She saw a smaller, gray cat, with only half a tail, behind the black and white cat, pacing back and forth with worry. She spoke through the pain.

"A-adder... A-archwhisper...."

Adder smoothed his tail over her mouth.

"Shhh... just relax... and stay calm. Panicking doesn't help..."

Grayshadow fought to relax as her muscles screamed in pain.

"Do you know any herbs that may help to get the kit out? I know you were in the medicine cat den, healing and resting, and you learned a bit."

Grayshadow nodded, and strained her mind to concentrate on something else other then the pain.

"C-crushed I-iris P-petal's f-for breathing..."

She knew this would help her. She was having a terrible time breathing. She knew she would need to draw them what it looked like. She tried to sit up carefully, and Adder instinctively moved beside her. She leaned against him, and drew the delicate petal into the dirt.

"D-dock leaves..."

She wasn't sure if this would work. It was used to make things slippery, but she also drew it into the dirt beside the iris petal.

"G-goldenrod."

She needn't draw this. Almost any cat would know what Goldenrod. Then she thought of Rasberry Leaves.

"A-a-and Raspberry L-leaves."

She drew the jagged shape into the ground, then collapsed. She briefly described the scents, and where to find them, before she saw Archwhisper run off. Another jolt of pain ripped through her, and soon enough she saw Archwhisper come back with all herbs. She immediately ate the Raspberry Leaves and Goldenrod. She saw Archwhisper crushing up the iris petal's, before she ate them. The Goldenrod helped with the pain slightly, and the crushed iris petal's helped her breathe better. The Raspberry leaves would help with the birthing process. The kit was still stuck. She then realized it was because it was turned the wrong way. She told her mate, and the instantly tried to fix it. Then, the felt a contraction go through her, and then heard the kit mewl. She breathed in relief, and one other kit, a tom, was born. Adder licked it clean, but stared at it in sorrow. It was dead. Grayshadow closed her eyes tight.

"It was in there for too long."

She felt Adder curl up beside her as Archwhisper placed the one she-kit beside her. She looked at the kit, and murmered.

"Stillkit..."

She had heard another voice mixed with hers, and realized Adder had spoken at the same time. She purred. Then asked the question that she still didn't understand.

"I-i thought you had left..."

Adder smiled.

"We had. But."

Adder looked at Archwhisper, and whispered into Grayshadow's ear. His breath warmed her.

"I figured out that I couldn't live without you. I am coming back. But Archwhisper... she only made this journey with me. She is going to leave."

Grayshadow looked at Archwhisper to see her shuffling her paws in embarrassment. Whatever Adder was going to say, made her act this way. Adder smiled.

"We ran into a tom. And she's going to stay with him."

Grayshadow purred in happiness for her kit. Archwhisper dipped her head.

"I-i really should go now... He-Fleet-"

Archwhisper looked away as she said his name.

"-I-is waiting. It was good seeing you again."

Archwhisper started to leave, when Grayshadow spoke.

"Wait! I-i think you should know, Dreamstar was killed."

Archwshiper stiffened then nodded, still not turning around.

"Wish LakeClan the best for me."

With that, Archwhisper walked away. maybe forever. Adder looked at Grayshadow with worry.

"I'm so sorry Grayshadow. I should have been there. I should have never left."

Grayshadow smiled, and purred.

"It's okay. You're back now. That's all that matters."

Grayshadow closed her eyes, and drifted into sleep, the warmth of Adder, and Stillkit, warming her heart.
