More and more BlackClan warriors seemed to come in, and Markstar made a difficult desicion.
"Everyone get into the clearing! It'll be safer out there where we aren't cornered!"
The Queen's nodded, and quickly dispatched the warrior who was attacking them before grabbing the kits they could, and herding the others out. They made a circle around the remaining kits, and tumbled into the Clearing where warriors immediately went to protect them. Markstar followed them out, looking for his five kits. He saw Silhouettepaw and Blazedpaw sticking close to the queens, though his daughter pretty much had to hold on to Blazedpaw to get him to stay. Markstar saw Wanderpaw sticking to the shadows of the camp, her eyes wary. Markstar knew Shatteredpaw and Covepaw had gotten out too. Hopefully they were sticking together. Markstar leaped onto a tom, and sent the tom wailing. Then he looked around, and the whole battle seemed to zoom out around him. His eyes only focused on one thing. Markstar yowled and ran forward, bumping into cat fighting, but not noticing. He crouched down beside the still body, his eyes filled with grief.
"Covepaw! No!"
But Markstar had to face the fact, that Covepaw had been killed. Markstar shook, and yowled above the roar of the battle.
"LakeClan! Retreat!"
Many of the LakeClan cats looked at him in surprise, but didn't ask any questions. They got away from their attackers, and headed out of the camp. Markstar grabbed Covepaw's scruff, and saw Nestflame dragging Strongspirit out of the Medicine Cat Den with Adder helping. Markstar looked away from Nestflame's burning stare. Hopefully know one else had been killed. He pushed his way to the front of the clan, letting Wrencall take Covepaw.
"Go to the border and over! We lost. We wouldn't have won. I'm sorry, to everyone."
Markstar hung his head and ran towards the border, his clan following. He tried to block out the sounds of yowls of triumph from their old camp. Markstar shook his head, and stopped finally when not a trace of LakeClan remained in the air other then his warriors. He flopped down on the ground, not even noticing, that four cats were missing. Four cats were left behind with hundred's of enemy warriors. One of them being Shatteredpaw...

Sunnycry followed the clan out of the camp, but instead of following them through the territory, she ran to BlackClan's territory. When she got to the border, her eyes brightened when she saw Erol, sitting in the territory, waiting. Sunnycry smiled, and started to walk forward.

She smiled as she remembered Erol telling her his stories when they were mere kits. Not look at them.

She pictured BlackClan, with Fierystar. She could just tell that Fierystar was gone. Erol's body was laced with fresh wounds.
And I got my heart set on what happens next,

Sunnycry smiled, and licked one of Erol's wounds, knowing he had followers.

Sunnycry padded into the camp. Half the cats were gone, but she felt welcomed. Half of her life was spent here. Sunnycry smiled at Erol, knowing her old life was only a memory.

Silentecho glared back at where their camp was, his eyes burning with anger and shame, but he sighed, turning his back on it.

Gazestripe had her eyes fixed on her paws, zoned out, not even noticing her old shredded ear wound was opened up again.

Fierystar snarled. HE paced angrily, not caring that some of his wounds had opened up and started to bleed. HE had appointed a new medicine cat, Hollowslash, but had refused to let him treat his wounds.
In his anger, Fierystar had ended up killing two warriors who had failed to find new shelter, and other cats were too tired, angry or frightened to to look for new shelter. But, what made him slightly at ease, is that seven of the cats he sent out to his other camps had returned and numbers were growing again. He had sent out almost twenty to reach the nearest of his camps and bring as many cats as they could.
Erol hasnt seen the last of me.....
Fierystar vowled and sat, lashing his tail across the nedle-strewn ground. His breath billowed out in white cloud around him as he breathed hard.
His new deputy, Fringescar, eyed him, eyed the blood still fresh on his paws that stank of rage and fear. Rage on Fierystars behalf, fear of the cats whose blood had been spilled.
Fierystar looked around at the cats still there when he picked up a scent......
He realized with a jolt.
LakeClan! Iv'e forgot about the attack on their camp!
With a yowl for his cats to follow him he raced toward the LakeClan camp. He coulsn't hear any battle screeches, but triumphant yowls bathed the air. No fresh scent of BlackClan was outside that camp. He slipped in to see the camp was filled with his warriors.

Shatteredpaw, ears flat against his head, looked at the scene. He couldn't possibly escape now.

"Covepaw! No!" Blazedpaw yowled as they retreated "W-WhY!!?" tears burned his cheeks. His sister was dead. ANd who else? His mother? He looked at her still body, she was alive... but for how long.

Now we have to find new territory. LakeClan... was defeated.

*Bluegaze snarled, and dodged every attack that came, and driving off every cat who dared attack him.*

*Everlight opened her eyes, and gasped. The whole clan was gone, the clearing only filled with BlackClan warriors and Bluegaze. She closed her eyes again, and a fire burst into the camp, encircling a group of BlackClan warriors.*

Strongspirit coughed and opened her eyes. She Pushed them away and limped over to Markstar "W-whats wrong. What happened?!"

*Markstar leaped up and faced Strongspirit, his face wet with tears.*
T-the clan retreated. I-it was too much. Covepaw was killed, and Shatteredpaw is missing...
*Markstar closed his eyes.*

a commanding yowl sounded out, and the BlackClan warriors in the camp stopped dead in their tracks. Some turned with a snarl, but quickly quieted as they realized who it was.
Fierystar gazed coldly at the three cats left in camp. Bluegaze, his mate, and an apprentice.
"Do you three not realize that LakeClan has left?"
Fierystar inquired with icy calm.

Shadowsoul stood next to Fierystar and Fringescar. He tipped his head to one side as he watched The tom beat off every cat that faced him. A prickle in his paws made his claws come out when he looked at the tom. He gave a little smile.

Strongspirit's entire body was burning from standing, but at the moment she didn't care. A whimper escaped her lips and tears fell. "T-the others. Are they ok? Anyone else dead?"

E-everyone else seems okay, just badly hurt. It seems like our family is the only one suffering....

*Everlight tilted her head.*
So? Do you think I care? This is my home and someone like you won't ruin it.
*Then, the ground underneath Fierystar rumbled, and a crack formed.*

Fierystar laughed.
"Oh my goodness. Im so scared of a crack my paw can't even fit through."
He stepped off of the crack though, and studied Everlight.
"Hmm. You are new to me. Who are you?"
Silentstalker shuffled forward and whispered in Fierystars ear. Fierystar flicked his ear irritably and the silver tom backed off.
"Everlight, Bluegaze and......."
He looked at the apprentice.
Shadowsoul meowed loudly,
"His name is Shatteredpaw."
Fierystar whipped around to face the black tom.
"How do you know this?!"
Fierystar hissed.
Shadowsoul rolled his eyes. This question had come so easily that he just answered with the truth.
"I can read minds, mouse-brain."

Strongspirit nodded, her legs shaking, threatening to collapse under her. She licked his cheek "Everything will be ok. Covepaw will be welcomed in StarClan, and we will find a new better territory,"

*The ground cracked more, and fire burst from it. The fire raged with hot intensity, matching Everlight's eyes and mood. She snarled, and the fire got higher.*

"Then he will be welcomed in StarClan too. Markstar it's not the end." Even though she was still crying, she pressed against him "Everythings going to be ok."

Shadowsoul noticed Bluegaze looking at him, and growled.

*Bluegaze smirked, and felt a cloak surround him. His eyes became amber instead of blue, and he knew Everlight was protecting both their minds. She had heard what Shadowsoul had said, and was being careful from him looking into their minds and discovering their secret.*

Strongspirit looked down "Well sorry for trying to make you feel better." She limped over to where Blazedpaw, Silhouettepaw and Wanderpaw were.

*Markstar looked down. He looked around for someone to talk to.*

"Whatever, Bluegaze."
He sneered. he looked around ti see that Fierystar and all the BlackClan cats were too occupied with either Everlight or the fire, so he raced up to Bluegaze quickly and stood nose-to-nose with him.
"Listen. You may have Everlight protecting your mind, and letting you actually see, but that just shows you can't do it yourself. I can tell many things by just loking at a cat, without peering into their minds."
He glanced around at Fierystar.
"Fierystar thinks im with him. but i know i way we can kill him for good, because there's one cat with him now who wants him dead more than you or I. Just for the record, Im with you."
He whispered, than his voice raised to an aggressive yowl.
"Fox-face!"
He lashed out with one paw, but his claws were sheathed. It sent Bluegaze reeling, however. he jumped away out of range and hissed.

*Bluegaze narrowed his eyes.*

*Everlight smirked, staring into darkness.*

Fierystar snarled. than he gazed at her curiously.
"Your eyes are blue."

Shadowsoul gave a half smile and mouthed, Twistingbreak.

*Everlight smirked, and all of a sudden, the fire was gone, and the ground was fine again. But then storm clouds formed, and rain poured down heavily.*

Fierystar looked at Bluegaze, and noticed his eyes were amber. The color Everlights used to be, and vice versa. He remembered the day he had fought with Bluegaze and his eyes were amber. He could see.
"So everlight, you give up your sight for Bluegaze's blindness any time you want?"
Shadowsoul slipped into the crowd and stood next to a large dark brown tom whose eyes were burning like Fierystars, but he still looked considerably small next to Shadowsoul.

Fierystar stayed calm, ignoring Everlights hostile tone.

Fierystar yawned.
"You realize that at any moment i could order only one cat-a certain one-and your blood would fall to the ground?"
Shadowsoul froze, and glared at Fierystar, who didn't notice. How dare he use him like this?! HE did't have any need to kill the she-cat anyway.

Shadowsoul stepped up.
" Yeah right. You know how many times that's happened to me by someone much more experienced than you?"
He meant no offence by this, but it was true. Deathheart had done this many, many times.

Shadowsoul rolled his eyes.
"It's not my time to die. I have much more important things to do, and thats the only reason i'm still alive. Trust me, sometimes i wish I wasn't."
He laughed, a harsh grating sound that hurt cat's ears
*Everlight nodded, and let the rain stopped. Instead a fierce wind picked up, threatening to sweep cats away.*

Fierystar stood his ground as the wind whipped at his fur.
"You also control elements. How impressive."
I could kill you right now Fierystar. Leave my camp. You don't realize the power I hold.

Fierystar challenged. A gleam was in his eyes, showing he didn't care either way.

*Everlight didn't move, and her eyes were amber again. She closed her eyes, and she felt her mind twist as she twisted Fierystar's.*

Fierystar crouched, his eyes squeezed shut and his claws dug in the ground. He felt his mind beggining to bend by a presence that he felt as Everlights. He gritted his teeth and drew all his strength into his willpower, shoving Everlight out of his mind like he had done to his father in so many Nighttime training sessions. He stood, panting with effort, and saw Everlight looked slightly surprised. He smiled.

*Everlight narrowed her eyes, and smirked.*
Impressive. But I can weaken you.
*She closed her eyes, and took a step forward, she growled in effort, and gasped for breath. Knowing that that she would nearly die if Fierystar did, but she kept her mind blocked from Shadowsoul. She felt her lungs being compressed, and knew Fierystar would feel the same thing.*

Fierystar's eyes widened as he felt as though his lungs were filling with water, like raindrops in a pool. HE fought to stay standing as cats stared at them both in confusion. Fierystar opened his eyes and glared at Everlight as he struggled to breathe.
Shadowsoul gazed at Everlight curiously, and saw the same ill that she had reflected in Fierystar. He cocked his head to one side and stared at her intently. HE felt her weakening, but her willpower depleted much slower than her physical condition, And Shadowsoul found it difficult to find a weak spot in her defenses. He reached out to her, looking around in her mind for any secrets that weren't covered up by her mental barrier.

*Everlight smirked, and choked out.*

*She turned her gaze and snarled at Shadowsoul.*

*Everlight shook her head, and thought, knowing Bluegaze would see it. And not caring if Shadowsoul did. I have StarClan with me. They wouldn't let me die so easily. Any way, I am their... daughter. I was created by the whole of StarClan. Everlight looked at Shadowsoul, wondering if he saw. Then she thought to herself, raising her barriers again. The prophecy is ending anyways.*

Shadowsoul raised his chin. So Bluegaze could read minds as well. Interesting.
I told you, Bluegaze. You cannot hide things from me.
A Snarl ripped out of Fierystar's throat, and he choked out,
"I h-have eight lives. You have one. Suffocating me will kill you and not me."
He growled.

No. I'll hold your lungs closed, even when I'm dead.

*I don't care. It's almost over anyways. Soon everything will be in the open. Everyone will know.*

"Than the Dark Forest cats will rip the life out of your starry body until i am avenged."

Fierystar looked confused. Than his gaze hardened.

Shadowsoul looked at Fierystar and Everlight.

Then I'll work on your heart. If your heart is destroyed, you'll be killed forever.

Fierystar grimaced, and gasped as his heart was being squeezed.
Shadowsoul crouched and leaped next to Everlight, touching his nose to her head. He closed his eyes as he felt her barrier shattered, but he didn't look. Instead he went straight to her darkest secrets. He just shifted around as if He was searching, and he knew it Hurt Everlight. His searching always did. IF he broke her concentration, She wouldn't kill herself or Fierystar.

*Everlight's eyes flew open, and she spun around at Shadowsoul, stabbing his mind with sharp attacks.*
How. Dare. YOU!
*Everlight advanced, her eyes dark with anger.*

Shadowsoul stood his ground, not even wincing at Everlights attacks. He snarled and flipped her legs out from under her. he planted his paw on her neck and bared his teeth.
"Dont even try. I can hurt you mor than you can me both ways."
Scross the clearing, the weight on Fierystar's Heart surpressed, and he gasped.

*Everlight snarled, and a strong wind whipped up again. It got stronger and stronger until you could almost hear the trees groaning as the roots were slowly pulled from the ground. Everlight pushed Shadowsoul away with the winds help.*
How dare you look into my mind.

"I wasn't paying attention! It was only to stop you from killing yourself."
He snarled. his gaze went to Bluegaze for a moment before going back to the furious she-cat.

If you ever try that again. I will kill you. I don't take pleasure in cats probing my mind.
*Everlight bared her teeth, and then shot an icy glare at Fierystar. She snarled, and her voice echoed around the clearing.*
Leave! Right now.

Fierystar coughed.
"I will not be driven out twice. Not by weaklings."
Shadowsoul snarled.
"I've had enough of this."
He padded grimly towards Fierystar, who stared up at him with suspition in his eyes. Shadowsoul growled.
"Greet Deathheart for me."
Shadowsoul reared up, his teeth bared and ears flat to his head, and crashed down on Fierystar, his claws ripping into the dark tom's head and neck. Fierystar struggled and lshed out at Shadowsoul, but was to weak to even make a scratch. He backed away from the leader with blood on his paws, and Fierystar was laying still, his eyes cloudy. Suddenly he jerked, and life returned to his eyes. HE spluttered, some of his wounds healed. HE glared at Shadowsoul with hatred glowing from every pore in his body, and he stood ad stumbled.
"You.......you'll die, Shadowsoul. I won't forget you."
He flicked his tail and stumbled out of camp, his warriors casting hostile glances at Shadowsoul and Everlight before following. Twistingbreak was the last out, and he cast a glare through narrowed eyes at Shadowsoul, who shrugged. Soon the camp was empty other than Everlight, Bluegaze Shadowsoul and Shatteredpaw.

Yellowstripe looked around the BlackClan camp. He smiled purring. "Looks like things are all going back to normal." a voice said from behind him. He spund around "Mossyclaw!" he purred
She smiled "Yea. I'm back. I want to join, I like it better here than in LakeClan anyways. So, where's Erol. He's the new leader right?"
Yellowstripe nodded "Yea. I'm glad your staying."
Mossyclaw smiled and nodded, "I'll se you later." She padded away to go find Erol.

Shadowsoul Shrugged.

Frigidpaw padded in tentatively. HE knew he's probably be killed for coming home, but there was a surprise. Fireystar wasn't there! Erol was, so Frigidpaw padded up to him.
"E-Erol? Where's Fierystar, and my brother, Twistingbreak?"

*Erol looked at frigidpaw.*
Fierystar isn't coming back. All his followers left with him. I'm leader now. I gave Fierystar a chance to leave without a fight. he didn't, so we fought. And he lost a life. I won.

Frigidpaws ears pricked up.
"Really? That's great! I mean, uh...."
HE shuffled his paws in embarassment.

It's okay. Many cats hated Fierystar. I'm glad he's gone. Now, BlackClan will turn into a real clan. And I'll go and receive nine lives.

"Wait, Uh, Erol...."
He wasn't sure what else to call him, but Erolstar didn't seem appropriate.
"Well, my brother was made a warrior, and i know i look much younger than i actually am, but Fierystar didn't make me a warrior because of my...uh....size, i guess. And he hated every hair on my pelt. Sooo......"
He looked at the ginger tom hopefully.

*Erol laughed.*
Of course.
*He looked to the Nursery. Many of the kits were three moons, and he knew that Fierystar would have made them apprentices in a matter of days. But not anymore. All the "apprentices" who were under 6 moons wouldn't be made kits again, just their training would be slow and gentle. They would be allowed more free time. *

Frigidpaw smiled and nodded respectfully.
Mossyclaw padded up to Erol "Uh. Hey." she smiled "I'd like to join."

Of course. You were already in BlackClan.

Mossyclaw flicked her ears and smiled "Thanks. Just wanted to make sure. Is Sunnycry ok?"

Mossyclaw nodded and sighed "A new begginning Are you going to get your Nine lives? Or... have you gotten them?"

Shatteredpaw, who felt battered and bruised, looked at lakeclan's camp from outside it with weary eyes.
Why don't i feel drawn back to it? he thought.
