The Birth of New Lives

Dreamstar walked out of the nursery, her belly swollen with the new lives that were soon to come. She saw Fellwave and smiled. She remembered his birth, in that blistering blizzard. How horrid it was. And then, the death of her other kits. She winced, his birth was forbidden, but was it still forbidden? She knew these kits would not be forbidden, because Rippleblaze was in LakeClan now. She smiled. She winced again, and padded back into the nursery. So many memories... the birth of Ashfang, Duskfall, Reedpond and Jayflight... and Soaringheart. Had he fled LakeClan in despair? Had he fled with Silverfang? Dreamstar shook her head. He doesn't even know about Hawkfeather, Spottedrain, Ashfang, and Duskfall. He thinks they're alive, but they're dead... Dreamstar sighed. She didn't love Soaringheart like she did before. Yes, Soaringheart still was a sweet cat, and he would always hold a special place in her heart, but they could never be mates again. She groaned slightly. She wanted to tell him one last thing before they went their separate ways in life. But they already had, but she wanted to find him, and tell him her feelings, and about their kits. Then he may go on with life...

Dreamstar groaned again, and found herself panting. She circled in her nest numerous times, but she didn't lie down. She paced back and forth. Many of the queens were outside with their kits, or mates. She felt a tail touch her shoulder. She looked over to see Snowleaf, her eyes filled with worry.

"Are you okay Dreamstar? Are the kits coming?"

Dreamstar nodded to Snowleaf. Snowleaf padded out of the nursery to get Rippleblaze, and the medicine cats. Dreamstar stopped pacing when it started to hurt. She went to her nest and lied down. She saw Jayflight, Nestpaw and Rosepaw come in. Rippleblaze was following behind. Rippleblaze padded over to Dreamstar. He licked her forehead. Dreamstar closed her eyes. She saw her kits in StarClan. She saw Cloudriver also. She smiled. There was Ashfang, Duskfall, Lionstorm, Russetnight, Spottedrain, Hawkfeather, Webkit, Mudkit, Mistykit, Shadekit, and even Starheart, who she had named a warrior before burying her. 11 of her kits were in StarClan. Then she saw one other familiar pelt. She smiled slightly. The cat she saw was Fleckwater. The beautiful silver, tabby tom stood beside Cloudriver, their pelts identical. His wise, green eyes watched the kits play. Then his eyes turned to look at Dreamstar, though she wasn't in StarClan. He nodded, and Dreamstar's eyes flew open with pain. She gasped.

"Dreamstar! I want you to push now!"

Dreamstar pushed, and a small dark gray tabby tom with white paws came out. Jayflight gave him to Rosepaw to lick. Next a dark gray tabby tom was born, and Jayflight handed the kit to Nestpaw.

"One more kit Dreamstar... you're doing great!"

Dreamstar groaned, and sighed as the last kit came. She heard Jayflight gasp slightly as he licked the silver tom. Rosepaw, Nestpaw, and Jayflight placed the three tom kits next to Dreamstar. Dreamstar looked at the kit that Jayflight licked. it has a mark on it's heart. She closed her eyes.

"He shall be Mark-kit."

She looked at Rippleblaze, and touched the first born kit with her tail.

"You can name him."

Rippleblaze purred.

"Rainingkit."

Dreamstar smiled and sighed. The last kit, looked quite a bit like Fleckwater, but darker.

"And the last kit, shall be Fleck-kit."

No one in the clan would have remembered Fleckwater and his siblings, so it was safe to name her kit this. Rippleblaze lied down next to Dreamstar, and curled around her.

"Our kits are beautiful Dreamstar... You did well."

Dreamstar purred, and let herself drift into sleep...
