He padded into the forest, his increased hearing hearing her paw steps behind him. His heart beat faster, and he shook his head. He spun around, racing to where Ebonywing was walking. He ran full speed, skidding to a halt in front of her.
Ebonywing took in a sharp in take of air as she found herself nose to nose to Burst. She leaped away, racing away, hearing him give chase. Soon she felt his breath on her heels, then he was running beside her. She looked beside her, and he wasn't there anymore. She narrowed her eyes, then felt him leap onto her from the other side. She gasped as they went tumbling down a hill. She laughed as they stopped, and opened her eyes. She found herself lying underneath Burst, him standing over her. She looked into his wide ice blue eyes, her heart beating fast.
Burst breathing in quickly, searching her eyes. A strong, strange feeling came over him. he lowered his head, letting his cheek brush hers. He felt her breathe out, and he stepped away, bringing himself to her again. He layed down beside her , his breathing coming fast. She put her head on the ground, closing her eyes. Burst placed his head down beside hers, falling asleep with her...

Singe awoke, padding out of the warriors den to watch the sun rise he heard a whisper behind him, of something he couldn't make out. He spun around quickly to see sparkling eyes "Silhouettepaw." he mewed calmly blinking a few times.
Silhouettepaw sat next to him, leaning against his broad shoulder "Hey Singe."
Singe smiled "So, you alright."
Silhouettepaw shook her head "No. I-i miss dad."
Singe licked her ear "I know, he was a great leader, we will all miss him."
Singe flinched inwardly, knowing he was lying.
Why do I regret lying to her. Ugh, she is making me go soft. This has to be taken care of
He unsheathed his claws, but as soon as he looked at her, he knew he couldn't do it, the plan wasn't complete

"So... uh." Silhouettepaw mewed quietly, her silver tabby pelt glowing faintly in the rising sun "How... are you?"
"Frustrated." Singe replied, giving no explaination. Silhouettepaw didn't ask for one.
"Maybe we could... go for a walk?" Silhouettepaw murmered quietly "Get your mind off your problems."

"No. Not now, you're an apprentice anyway, I don't know why I bother to spend so much time with you, I'm not your mentor." Singe snapped his eyes colder than Silhouettepaw had ever seen them.
"S-singe. I just, love being with you. I love-"
"You know what. Why don't we just... sit quietly." Singe murmered, staring at the splashes of orange in the sky as the sun slowly rose "I need to think."
Silhouettepaw nodded, content with having a few moments to just sit with him. She closed her eyes, but the word she was just about to say still remained. An unheard echo among the silent dawn.

Burst blinked open his eyes. He stiffened when he felt fur brushing his. He glanced the the side, and saw Ebonywing. The whole night flooded back. What... what happened? A feeling just came over me... I never planned.... He sat up shaking his pelt off. He padded away, quickly coming back with a mouse. He put it in front of Ebonywing, who was still sleeping. Then he climbed into the nearest tree. Sitting on the lowest branch, watching.*

Singe sat there for a long time, until it was about time cats would begin to wake up. He looked at Silhouettepaw, who was still leaned against him. Soon, the others would distract her and these few perfect moments would be ruined. "Silhouettepaw... how about that walk." Silhouettepaw nodded eagerly and stood up stretching. She yawned, her eyes glittering and they padded out into the forest.
After walking and just talking about things for a while, Singe glimced a light gray pelt in the tree "Br- Burst!!?" he yowled, wondering what his brother was doing in the forest so early.

Nestflame walked along the BlackClan border searching for mallow and goldenrod. "I could use some iris petals too." he murmered. "What a FUN job."
Suddenly, a dark silver she-cat limped to a nearby tree. She gasped when she saw him "Y-you!' she mewed "H-elp. Kits... attacked."

Burst startled slipped off the branch slightly. He yanked himself back up, his eyes wide and startled.

Shatteredpaw closed his eyes again, another wave of pain racking his body, and he knew he would see things if he opened his eyes and he could hear voices in his head.

He leaped down in front of Singe. he glanced at Silhouettepaw for a second then answered.
"I fell asleep. I came to think about things, and I guess I got tired."
Burst made sure to block Singe's way, as Ebonywing was only sleeping a little ways away.

Singe rolled his eyes "You can think in camp." he looked at Silhouettepaw, then at Burst "Hmm. Were you... out with someone, like a patrol??"

It's too crowded in camp to think. You know that as well as I do.

And no. Why would I come out with a patrol?
*Burst snorted.*
Patrols don't stop an invasion if they aren't patrolling certain borders at all times.
