Battle Won, but Lost Life

*Rippleblaze stumbled to the LakeRock. His eyes were blank with sorrow.*

A-as you all know-

*Rippleblaze closed his eyes as a fresh flood of emotions threatened to overflow came.*

Dreamstar, lost her last life to Dewstar. We will miss her greatly. And she hoped to had died when Markpaw was a warrior. But he is not.(Look at the Battle Post, at the last 20 comments or so.)

*Rippleblaze looked over to Markpaw, who was silently crying.*

She told me... that if she ever died, before Markpaw was a warrior, she would want Bluegaze... or Grayshadow to be leader.

*Rippleblaze sobbed, and tried to pull himself back together. Grayshadow looked at Bluegaze. Bluegaze's name was said first, so most cats knew he would be leader.*

It is almost Dusk, and we will now pay our respects to Dreamstar, our leader... Sorrelpaw and Runningshadow have also lost their life.

*Rippleblaze hung his head low, and padded slowly to Dreamstar, where he curled around her, and started to groom her...*

*It was now the morning after the battle, and the elders were just about ready to go bury Dreamstar and Sorrelpaw and Runningshadow. Rippleblaze whimpered, and refused to move from his dead mates side. He felt Grayshadow rest her tail gently on Rippleblaze's shoulder. her eyes were red from crying.*

She's not coming back Rippleblaze. I'm sorry. I want her to come back too, but she... she's not.

*Rippleblaze let out a small wail, and grabbed Dreamstar's scruff gently, then started to drag her away, with no help. He padded out of the entrance, and into the forest.*

*Rippleblaze padded to where LakeClan cats were buried for seasons. Each spot all had a small stone on it, and Rippleblaze dug out a new hole. He grabbed Dreamstar's scruff, looking into her still face. He gasped with pain, as something dug into his heart. He fell to the ground, and blacked out.*

*When Rippleblaze woke up, Dreamstar's body was gone. He stood on shaky legs, and yowled in grief.*

Dreamstar!

*Rippleblaze fell to the ground in sorrow, and buried his head in his paws.*

I can't go on living without you!

*Rippleblaze stood up again, and walked blindly to the lake. He looked across the black expanse of water, and lifted his head. He sniffed the air, taking in the scents of the water. He then stiffened as he smelled Dreamstar's scent.*

Have you come for me Dreamstar? I need you. I want to be in StarClan with you!(someones loopy... :P )

*Rippleblaze started to wade into the water. His paws sliding on the smooth sandy bottom. He stared at a faint figure in front of him.*

D-dreamstar!?(loopy)

*He started to go in faster, then he felt a tail touch his shoulder. He stopped, and stiffened.*

Where are you going?

*Rippleblaze slowly turned around, to see Dreamstar standing in front of him.*

D-dreamstar? This is the StarClan Dreamstar, right? You're here to take me to StarClan too!

*Dreamstar tilted her head.*

Rippleblaze. It's me. I'm... alive.

*Dreamstar's eyes filled with tears, and she gave a weak, shaky smile. Rippleblaze's heart sped up.*

B-bu-but! I-i saw you die! You were cold! You weren't breathing for all night... You're doing this from StarClan so I don't join!

*Dreamstar touched her nose to Rippleblaze.*

I'm alive. I will be. For a long time.

*Dreamstar gave the same smile, as Rippleblaze's eyes filled with tears.*

Dreamstar. It is you. You came back!

*Dreamstar purred.*

I was never gone. I did lose a life though. But I would never leave you. C'mon. Let's go back to camp. Every one's going to be happy to see me alive.

*Rippleblaze started crying, and he pressed his side against Dreamstar. They then walked back to camp together*

*Rippleblaze walked in first, and many cats were still in the clearing. They looked over to him, then looked away. They looked away so quickly, that they didn't notice the other cat pad in behind Rippleblaze. Dreamstar was masked in shadows. Then, a breeze blew over, sending Dreamstar's scent across the clearing. The whole clan looked up, and Dreamstar stepped from the shadows. She walks forward, until she is standing next to Rippleblaze. Every cat's ears are pricked forward, and their eyes wide in disbelief. Then, after a moment of silence, yowls of excitement break out, and they rush towards Dreamstar. Cats who were in den, look out, and come out. Dreamstar smiles at Rippleblaze, and she walks through the crowd, and leaps onto the LakeRock.*

Cats of LakeClan! You all thought I was dead, but I am not! I merely lost a life, and it took longer then usual to get back from StarClan! Do not worry. I am still your leader, and clan life will go on as usual.

*Dreamstar leaped down, and was flooded with greetings and excitement. But Dreamstar was thinking of other things, that no cat from the clan realized.... I shouldn't be alive...*
